Winter camped in Fl for last 12 years. 3 years we ago bought a winter home in Sebring but take our camper and camp weekdays when we find a weekday opening. For best winter weather camp at least 50-75 miles south of Orlando. Most winter weather fronts cross the state around I-4. Really hard to find SP weekend campsites unless you already have reserved your campsite 11 months out. There are usually some county campsites available but usually you have do deal with the county recreation dept. for reservations. In Fl. not only do you have the snowbird campers but it is too hot for the kids to camp in the summer so the state parks fill up with family campers on the weekend.
