Spare Tire Mount

Is there any reason why I should not mount the spare tire to the tongue area of my '84 Scamp  ?

I'm considering adding a side mount bracket to the {left} side of the tongue ,between the body and hitch to get the extra weight off the back bumper .

Any input would be appreciated .

Scamp put there for a reason, balance. Keeping tongue weight is also a factor. With propane, battery, weight is a consideration.

That's one of the reasons I want to move the spare  tire there ; I have no propane tanks or battery on the tongue of the 84. 

I feel I'd like to add some weight there
