Replacing weather stripping around door

I just ordered the new weather stripping to replace the foam stripping that is currently around the door of my 13 foot Scamp. Has anyone installed this new rubber weather stripping and what did you use to remove the old glue that somewhat held the old foam tape on?

Weather is starting to warm up and me and the dog are ready to go trout fishing!!!

Weather Stripping

I replaced with the new rubber weather stripping last year.  I used Goof Off and found doing a small section at a time works best.  You have to scrape while the spray is still in liquid form.  It does take scrapping with a putty knife.

Removing Old Adhesive

I have found using the plastic putty knives to remove old adhesive that has been softened with Goof Off very effective and I don't risk damaging or gouging the surface.

Also, I prefer to use Goo Gone to soften old adhesives instead of Goof Off (less potential damage to surrounding surfaces if spilled).

Good Luck !

Happy Scamping !!!

New door seal

Contact Scamp immediately to get the spacer for the door latch. It will NOT close with the new door seal. We got it at the factory and it DID require the spacer. It cannot be closed without e spacer.

Removing Old Adhesive

Big job, it took me a whole day using goo gone and a plastic scraper.  I pulled from one end to the other real slow and then went back and removed the clue.  The new one fit the door and door seal at the bottom, works great and looks great.  Good luck.
