Our 16 Deluxe is going to be built soon and we are waiting on the phone call. We are wondering if we should add the Range Hood offered by Scamp for the cook top. I have not seen any photos but my first thought was it would take up space and make the interior seem smaller.
Our cooking style will end up being a mix of inside and out. (as weather permits)
Has anyone come across a good photo?
Thoughts or suggestions welcome
Jeff
Our thoughts,,, our 19 had one and I would sometimes bump into it. If the camper is closed, no ventilation, and the range hood fan is on there is the potential of the incoming passing through the toilet. When we ordered our new 13 last year a range hood was not included but we did opt for the back splash. It is easier to wipe down the back splash than cleaning the fur. Hopefully others will add their experiences.

Ours came with the hood (3rd owner). If I had to choose, I would leave it off the list. It takes up space, weight, etc. The blower sounded like a turboprop until I wired a rheostat in the circuit to control the speed. If you need to exhaust cooking odors, crack a window and turn on the roof fan. We do use it, but could live without it quite well. Go here: http://www.scamptrailers.com/showroom/19-deluxe-trailers.html#!20160219_... some of the pictures show it well. It is at eye level, so it makes the inside look smaller.
Back splash? Absolutely yes.

I also was going to order one for our 13'. Until Alan, at Scamp discouraged it after telling me that we would loose the window over the stove. Seems the window would be better.

Thanks for making us feel so welcome.
If you have a choice, Please buy, "Made in America"
The window over the stove and the roof fan do the job in our 16'.

Thanks for all the quick comments..........
Every ones advice was timely ........ this morning Scamp HQ phoned to confirm our new trailer was ready to build for an early May delivery. In the process of going over our order we opted NOT to include the Range Hood. In fact Scamp has moved to a new vent fan for the trailer itself and they are installing Maxxfan. (10-speeds, remote control & built in rain hood). In talking with HQ the suggestion was keep the window and leave off the range hood.
The weather in Illinois has been crazy warm and it is certainly hard to wait until our official spring starts and we make our pickup at Backas in May.

Jeff,
Awesome, they are starting your build. Exciting times. I've had Scamps with and without the range hood and prefer without myself. I think you'll be pleased with your decision.
