Has anyone added a large toolbox to the front of their Scamp 16 and permanently located their propane tank in the toolbox? First question is is it safe to do this and secondly, if anyone has accomplished this what model of toolbox di you utilize? Thanks for any help and thoughts.
I've seen boxes and gen setups added to the tongue, so it is done. Of course, you have to be mindful of the weight considerations and in light of propane tanks good ventilation. My question would be to understand fully what you're trying to accomplish is why you want to relocate the propane in a tool box?

I think that the white plastic tank covers look nice, and they are safe. Don’t forget the battery also generates explosive gas. People that enclose the tanks or battery in a non-vented box are building a bomb.
Thanks for your insight. You along with other member posts have made me rethink my original pan. My original thought was to generate as much room as possible for installation of a large toolbox. My new plan, to install the largest toolbox I can between the trailer and the propane tank or tanks. What brand(s) and size of toolbox has anyone had luck with? thanks for your thoughts.
Propane gas is heavier than air so any leakage will sink and collect in the bottom of the box. If you put your LPG tank in a box make sure there in good ventilation at the bottom. I don't think the bare tanks look bad!
With all the great insight I had from the members, I ended up installing my toolbox on the BACK of my Scamp 16. instead of my initial plan to put it on the front. Just finished the job and it worked out great. Thank you all for your knowledge.
