The Shademaker bag awnings

The Shademaker bag awnings are always a nice less expensive option for Scamps as well.

I'd only get the Supreme model if I got one again. I had put one on my 81 13 Scamp long ago. Worked out really well and as far as I know it's still in operation.

Awning

Lilly and I ordered a Rhino Rack Sunseeker 2.5 M awning yesterday for our 13 ft. Std.  It rolls up and fits into a zippered case that is mounted where a traditional awning would mount.  Eight foot models are available for as little as $341.  Also, fitted screens are available.  There are videos of it on Youtube.   Should have it in 2 weeks or so.  BTW, I will make mounts to fit my Scamp.

Awning

We picked up our 13 footer last month. My wife made an awning which we used last weekend at the Hudson River Rally. She put grommets in it and stuck 2 inch suction cups with built in hooks on the Scamp above the door and hung the awning on the hooks. Stayed up all weekend without incident. We'll eventually see how it does on windy days,

Great idea!

What a great idea. Did you tie the other edge or stake it somehow? I've been thinking I could rig up a tarp as an low tech sun shade by stringing it between the roof rack on my tow vehicle and the Scamp, but hadn't gotten so advanced as to think of suction cups!

Awning

We purchased extendable poles, tied a loop in the middle of a length of  line, placed the loop over the top of the pole and staked the two ends of the line down. Repeated with the second pole. Karen bought the grommets at the craft store and a little tool for inserting the metal grommets into the holes she made in the fabric. The suction cups worked great and can be removed easily on departure. When we ordered the camper, we did not like the looks of the awning provided by Scamp, which reminded us of a movie projector screen!

It is on!

HI,

Lilly and I finally have our Rhino Rack Sunseeker awning installed.  I had to make the brackets.  I was not looking forward to drilling holes in our shiny little Scamp, but it looks good.  Now we are thinking about adding the Mesh Room kit that turns the awning into a screened in room.
