Leak in back window area

Help! I gave my 2002 13' Scamp to my daughter who has had good use of it. This summer's hard rains have been leaking through the back window and she can't find the leak. She and the camper aren't in driving distance of us to physically help.

The leak is running between the inside of the body and the plastic liner and rat fur, then on to the floor. The rat fur on the wall doesn't get wet. She has caulked around the window and cleaned out the weep hole with no success.

Any suggestions to help her? Unfortunately, her area has been getting a lot of rain so this has been on on-going problem all spring.

Thanks much!

Leaks

Maybe it is not the window. There have been reports of leaking around the spare tire mounting studs. Check that out and try caulking at those points. The spare tire is heavy and having it bounce around back there might cause some leaking. Good luck!

Most of the time it is the

Most of the time it is the rear window seal. But other places to look. Where the taillight rivets and wiring enter the shell. As mentioned the spare tire bolts. Also there are two screw caps on either side of the spare, There are screws under these caps that hold the table attaching board during shell assembly. If you remove them and the they damp or rusty they could have been leaking or the belly band could be leaking. Your roof vent could be leaking water an run behind the refletix from the roof to the floor. Keep looking til you find the leak.

Good luck

While we'er on the subect of leaks: my year old 16' occasionally has a little bit of water in the middle of the floor. Seems to be only after a hard or long rain, and it's not much, but even "not much" is too much in my opinion. Does anybody have a good method for checking or testing to see where it's coming from? I'm pretty certain it's not a window, and I don't see any water tracks on the counter or moisture on the rat fur. Thanks in advance for any good forthcoming advice.
