joining the club with a 16'

We finally got our hands on a scamp! The sellers were wonderful and it was a great buying experience for us. She's a 1980 16' in great condition. We hope to do a little personalizing and get out camping in the Tennessee/ Georgia area as much as possible in this beautiful spring weather. We feel ready to jump in, and will definitely utilize this forum a lot... but feel free to give us any beginner tips. Also, I plan to give her a nice spring clean, so let me know your favorite cleaning products (it's foam insulation).

Our 8+ hr drive back was interesting, in that the sun set about halfway home, and we weren't able to get our hands on the right electrical adaptor for the camper lights, so we popped some taillights on the back. Since we didn't have proper/ legal lighting, we realized we needed to stop overnight but did not have any blankets to sleep in the camper. (It was cold and we have a little one) and were not near any campsites for a plug in. We ended up at a motel, and listened through the door for hours as a drunk man yelled vulgarities about our scamp being parked there (it was only us and his car in a large empty lot, and we were off on the end).  We made it home in once piece, and are ready for more adventures!
