First Trip This Year

We're getting ready for our first trip this year and we have a new (to us) Silverado tow vehicle.  I know this rig will pull our Scamp a heck of lot better than our V6 Ford Escape although I know the gas bill is going to go up.  We are off to Glacier National Park for a first retirement trip.  I am retiring Jun 13th from teaching middle school.  We are both looking forward to some Scamp adventures here in the West.

Glacier

Congratulations on your retirement.  I put 43 years in classrooms.
Glacier's a marvelous park. I'd advise making reservations: when we were there people were in line early in the morning to get what sites there were available. Also use the shuttles:  the parking spaces at view spots fill up quick and you get to look instead of focusing on driving.  Don't forget to get your Golden Age Passport  if you're over 62!

I just got my passport first of May. Saved $20 entry fee that day and get half off campsite we’re going to next week, so paid for itself first month.

For you midwest dwellers,

For you midwest dwellers, consider Rend Lake. With a senior pass just $8.00 a night with electric only. A full hook up is $12.00 with a senior pass! Great park and lake as we just returned from there! You will love it.

Senior Pass

Thats a great rate on the fees with the Senior Pass. We're currently staying over 9000 ft at a National Park Campground in N AZ for $12 nite on senior pass. Gotta love it.

Hi Jpalm,

My husband and I were.out for the first time, scamping around in Gran Marais MI. I think we saw you and your wife in Grand Marais down by that turn around by lake superior.  would have said hi but you looked like you were getting something situated.

Have a great scamping summer!!
