Good morning - I am the new owner of a 2006 16' Scamp with a front bathroom. I failed to test the plumbing before purchasing, and yesterday hooked it up for the first time. There are two leaks, which I suspect are from incomplete winterization.

The first picture shows a leak underneath the trailer, it looks like I should be able to disconnect and replace that part if I can identify what it is called.
The 2nd - 4th picture show the configuration of the toilet. The manual for the Sealand toilet mentions removing the flush handle cover to get access to the water valve (where it appears to be leaking).
Unfortunately, the PVC pipe shown in the picture is too close to allow the removal of that cover. The pipe is fixed into the wall and the tank below the toilet.
It would appear that my only option is to cut the pipe, but even then the elbow (best seen in the 3rd picture) would be right in the way.
It doesn't seem reasonable that the bathroom would be designed in such a way to make maintenance of the toilet impossible without major surgery, so I'm assuming there is a simple fix that I'm overlooking.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

The piece leaking under your trailer is the shower strainer. Just order one from Scamp. The easiest toilet repair is to install a external 1/2 PEX shout off valve going to the toilet.
You should not have to mess with the vent pipe to repair the flush valve. The flush valve leaver side plate comes off. The metal flush lever is unbolted and the rest of the plastic lever cover comes off. Then you can replace the flush valve cartridge. You also might want to remove the base ring and check your bowl to tank bolts are tight.
The flush valve cartridge can be ordered from a Dometic dealer online. Last one I bought several years ago was about $45. Do not try to dissemble the cartridge assy. it is spring loaded and can fly apart and hurt you. You just swap out the cartridge assy. If you have to remove the vent pipe you will have to cut the L just above the tank and unscrew the remainder of the L. Then you have to replumb the vent.
Or remove the base trim ring and remove the toilet for repair then you won't have to mess with the vent. You will need to order a base gasket comes with 4 bolts and nuts about $20 for the gasket seal kit.

I found a discussion here that took me through the steps, I really struggled to get the pedestal cover off, once I did that the rest went pretty easy. I got the flush valve out and have ordered a replacement. I will also put the shut off valve in there in case it happens again.
I'll get a new shower strainer as well.
Given that these were likely caused by improper winterization at some point, are there any other checks I should do to make sure that everything is good other than just hooking up and running water?

The factory uses air to test the water lines. It would take a little research to add air, similar to using a winterizing blowout plug, and measure for any pressure drop over 24 hours. No drop then no leaks.
Wondering if anyone has done this and could describe how it was done? I agree just turning on the water after a fix isn't the best way to test in an RV.
It sounds like that would take a little more equipment than I have but that is a great idea.
Is that something that Scamp only sells if you call? I didn't see that in their parts store or find it using the site search.
This looks like the strainer. You just need to verify your hose size since they sell it with different size hose barbs. I think 1/2" is the size. More than likely you can just swap out the clear cover. I saw the toilet repair thread you were talking about. I was a very good thread.

On my 13' Scamp, mines uses this type: Flojet Inline Strainer #01740000 3/4" Hose Barb. I realize no two Scamps are the same...
The reason I bought an extra one, was so that I could change the screen (alone) when it would become clogged and keep on trucking. Later when I had time, I would then clean the clogged one (at my convince). Here's a picture of what I have... I got mine on Ebay for total of $11.00 but the price on Ebay is NEVER the same and goes all over the map... The reason I bought the whole unit was because to get the screen alone was just about the same price...
