Some how we lost the 1/2" rod we need to use in the jacks at the rear of the camper. Don't know where to find a replacement or to order one. Manual says it's a "1/2" zinc coated rod, it's maybe 12-15" long. Is there somewhere I can buy one or use something else just as good? Thanks for any help. Diana

Need Rod for Rear Bumper Jack, 16 Scamp
Hi Dianna,
Hardly every used that bar myself. After the trailer was level with the tongue jack I'd drop the tongue down a couple of turns and then go set my rear stabilizers to the ground. Then go back up front and bring the tongue back up a couple of turns and the rear stabs were tight.
You can also use the correct size Philips Head screwdriver in place of that bar for the rear stabs.

I'll have to go try that. Sounds easier.

Most hardware stores can sell you 1/2" steel rod. You would probably have to buy 3' feet of it but then you could cut it in half and have a spare rod. The hardware store folks may even cut it for you. Give um your best smile! I do like the idea of a really big screwdriver though. Easier on the hands to use. As Greg says we rarely use that rod for the jacks. Just lower the tongue jack, set the rear jacks down, then raise the tongue jack until the trailer is level. Once in a while we will use the rod to jack one of the rear jacks a little to help level the trailer side to side.
