New (to me) Scamp Owner

After flirting with getting a new Little Snoozy and almost committing to a new Escape 17B, I turned back to Scamp and brought one home today that was only a 90 minute drive away.  It's a 2001 Scamp 16, Layout 6.  There are things I like about it, and things I don't, but the price was right, and I should be able to sell it for what I paid at some point if I decide to switch.  Most importantly, I can get to work on it right away and begin using it this summer. Back to reading the threads here and may have some questions for the experts.  It did come with the manual, which has already been very helpful.

Mods

This is the one I bought.

It wasn't actually in Minnesota; it was Neenah, WI.  Lightly used, but needs a good airing out  Sellers were getting a ton of interest from people willing to drive from all over, even as I was picking it up.   Looking to replace the carpet with vinyl.  Wife has some ideas about painting the cabinets and a few other cosmetic changes.  Would like to get it set up for solar and boondocking.  Prior owner used very little and always in campgrounds.

Scamp 16

John,

You found a sweet 16!

I'll throw you a little 10 minute $8 project that will make a startling difference. The Interior AC shroud has yellowed which is not unusual. Go to HD and get some of the Fusion or Krylon plastic spray paint in a nice white. AC shroud comes off with two screws, take it out and shoot it with the plastic paint, let dry, reinstall. You will be wowed at how nice it comes out and how little effort and $$ it is for that lil project. Just did that on my 19 Scamp and it is remarkable the difference.

Enjoy the Scamp
