Ext TV antenna replacement

Purchased in late Sept. a 16 ft 2001 Scamp.  As the trailer sat for several years, there are many things to address.  The one that is causing problems is the Ext TV antenna.  The mast is still there with the interior crank and coax wiring...but can't determine what to use to replace the actual antenna.  Anyone have suggestions?

Thanks

Jim

Hi JN10601,

Hi JN10601,

I actually just got a 2001 16ft Scamp also, and my TV antenna is a bit of a mess - the wood they used to mount it is all rotten and falling apart, and on the inside of the Scamp you can see that it has clearly been leaking as the carpeting is stained.  The antenna, to me, seems crazy big and takes up a lot of the roof.  I don't even have cable at home, so i'm planning on removing it and not putting another one in - the whole point of the camper is to get away from technology for me.  I'm actually looking into putting a Perspex skylight there, or maybe more of a port hole - we will see once i remove the antenna as to how large the hole is.  I've already laid on the roof to look at the stars, so it would be awesome to be able to do that from the comfort of the inside of the camper.  Good luck on your fix-it mission.

King Jack Antenna price drop

Just got a Amazon Camel Camel notification. The new style Jack antenna with mount and meter price just dropped to $86.17. That's a good deal, I don't know how long it will be at that price.

6 Feb: The price is now over $100.
