Process clarification for trailer jacking-storage

Sorry to bring up an older topic, but I wanted to clarify the process of jacking the trailer for longer periods of storage. I have a 13’. What do you use for the trailer jacking point and where do you put the jack stand? From the prior pictures, it looks like the stands would go along the 3”x1.5” frame towards the rear of the trailer behind the tire. That would also seem to be the best place to jack up the trailer but there doesn’t seem to be enough space to use the jack on the frame behind the tire and then get the stand into that space. Where would the safest places be to jack the trailer without risking damage and then get a jack stand in place? Thanks for the help!

Trailer storage/jack stands

I see no response as of yet, so I hope this helps.

First, I don't actually jack up the trailer.

With the trailer at the storage location, lower the tongue of the trailer to its lowest position, place jack stands under the 3" x 1.5" frame rails, close to the rear bumper, on the left and right side and raise the stands as high as possible.  Then return to the front and raise the tongue until the weight of the trailer is off the wheels.  I like to raise the trailer until it is level.  You now have the weight of the trailer off the rubber suspension components in the axle.  This is very easy to do, takes little time and will add considerable life to the suspension.  For this reason I do it after every trip.  A side benefit is a three point, stable support for the unit while you are loading/unloading or just sitting and smiling at the cute little bugger!

Sincerely, and stay safe,

Frosty
