Camper will not run on battery

Hello everyone I am new to this forum and just purchased my first scamp 13’ 2014 a couple days before thanksgiving so bare with me.

When plugged into shore power or 7 pin plug everything runs fine so I don’t believe it’s the converter, but when I try to run straight off battery nothing works, the battery is reading 12.4 volts on the voltmeter so I believe it’s healthy, water levels are good as well. I checked all the fuses and replaced ones that were blown and still nothing it working, the battery voltage does not change when hooked up to shore so I believe the issue is with the charge line or the connection to the battery or the battery itself potentially.

just to confirm I understand things correctly.. the only things that run off 110 volt ac is the fridge If I so choose and the outlets  and some of the lights correct ? ... on my 110v breaker there’s 4 breakers.. 30amp main ( which I assume runs to the converter ) 15amp 12v which I am not entirely sure what that does , 15 amp light and 15 amp for the  Fridge.

next to the breakers there’s a fuse box that has a 20amp charge line to battery, 20 amp rear of trailer, 20 amp front of trailer, 15 amp furnace and 15 amp fridge  and all the fuses on there are good

Battery

Our '06 has an inline fuse right next to the battery and developed the problem you describe. The fuse was good but the contacts had corroded, breaking continuity. I cleaned the contacts on both the fuse and socket and tucked the fuse inside the battery box. The problem has never returned.

battery hook up?

It sounds like a battery hook up problem. Did any fuses re-blow? Wired Black with fuse to positive and white to negative?

All the fuses r good I tested

All the fuses r good I tested them with a multimeter including the fuse right next the to battery. I’ll try and clean the connections .. hopefully that’s the issue.. thank you

Cleaned the connections with

Cleaned the connections with backing soda water and a tooth brush and still no luck .. going to keep testing other things maybe try a different battery or something ... but from my understanding of that battery is ready 12.2/12.3 volts it’s a healthy battery no ?

trouble shooting

Yes, the battery is OK for this test. Just use your meter to follow the voltage down the wire and see where it stops reading 12 volts.  Then disconnect the battery and do the same test following the wire from the converter. Wherever you lose the voltage is the location of the problem. Remember to use only one power source at a time. I think the problem is going to be very near the battery.

I had a similar problem, and

I had a similar problem, and it came down to the fuse between the battery and the trailer interior was defective in some way.  Not blown - it tested good with a tester, but when I replaced it, everything worked.

Okay so the 20 amp fuse that

Okay so the 20 amp fuse that is connected to the charge line to the battery keeps blowing.. but it only blows when it’s connected to the battery.... so obviously the wire is shorting somewhere but I am new to scamps and it’s hard to see where the wire goes to look for pinches and whatnot.. so any advice on that ?

Also a question about how to

Also a question about how to work the multimeter to test wires ... when I put it on the battery it reads 12.3V  but when I put it on wires that I know are working like the 12v furnace wire nothing comes up and I know it’s getting juice because it’s working so what am I doing wrong here ?

a question about

Where are you connecting the negative lead of the meter.? Are you sure the battery is hooked up correctly?

Ya black line ( w/ the fuse)

Ya black line ( w/ the fuse) the positive , white to the negative correct ? .. okay thanks .. how would test the wire though ? So maybe I could trace it to a point where it’s shorting
